We understand that talented artists exist in many forms, so endeavour to appeal to emerging artists of all ages and career paths, whether student, graduate, full-time or part-time, and from any country.
The Judging Panel reflects a range of expertise and tastes, so as a group will effectively identify the best entries.

Criteria for Artists & Artworks
(1) There is no restriction on the artist regarding age, training or nationality.
(2) All types of art, except for performance, video and sound art, are accepted.
(3) The artist must not have exclusive representation.
(4) Artwork size must be less than 275cm x 275cm x 50cm for artworks to be hung on the wall, and less than 275cm x 275cm x 200cm for sculptures. If you are unsure, please contact us.
(5) Once you have completed the online entry form, you will be sent to the payment page to pay the entry fee. Please select the correct payment option and enter your name in the notes.
(6) Entry Fee is £20 for first artwork, then £10 per additional artwork, up to a maximum 5 artworks. You can pay in US Dollars and Euros too. If you wish to pay in any other currency, please contact us.

Timetable
The competition consists of two stages.
Stage 1: Entered via the online form here. Deadline for entries is midnight Sunday 14th January 2018.
Shortlisted artworks will be announced in March 2018, following which the artists will be invited to send the original artworks by 5th April to the Ashurst London HQ for exhibiting from 7th April till 24th June 2018, and final judging.
Stage 2: Judging will take place and the winners announced in June 2018.
Shortlisted artworks will be available for collection in July 2018, and the winners will be invited to curate, with the support of the organisers, an exhibition of their artworks in the Ashurst Emerging Artists Gallery and HQ for 2nd July to 30th September 2017.

With a background in Biochemistry Briony Marshall is interested in the idea of art practice as research. She fuses an intellectual/conceptual approach with an intuitive, materials inspired process to develop sculptures that investigate the natural world and man’s place in it.
Briony has exhibited widely, has been selected for residencies at Pangolin London and in Pietrasanta Italy, has been named one of the Royal Society of Chemistry’s ‘175 faces of Chemisty’ and was recently shortlisted for the prestigious First@108 Public Art Award.
She is also very involved in both mentoring and peer mentoring of emerging artists, including for the highly competitive Royal British Society of Sculptor’s Bursary award.
