Tim Sayer
Art Collector and Curator
London based, self-confessed 'art-oholic', Tim Sayer has collected art since 1962, when he was 17. Tim is a retired BBC Radio news writer, and he and his wife, Annemarie Norton, recently bequeathed their entire collection of more than 400 works to The Hepworth Wakefield. Some of the world’s greatest artists, including Alexander Calder, Anthony Caro, Sonia Delaunay, Naum Gabo, David Hockney, Sol LeWitt, Henry Moore, Paul Nash and Bridget Riley, are represented. The bequest also includes Tim and Annemarie's significant library of books -- and their house.
Last summer, Tim co-curated an exhibition at The Hepworth Wakefield. ‘The Collector Curates’ explored the connections between works from his own collection - a dozen pieces were included - and those already in the Wakefield Permanent Art Collection. The show consisted of paintings, prints, drawings, ceramics and sculpture.
Tim brings his passion for supporting artists and his experienced collector's eye to our panel as a guest judge.
